Concepts of cyber bullying

Cyber bulling

The term 'Bully' means a learned behavior and not an innate characteristic of anyone that clearly relates that cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through messages, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content.

Different views of adults and young people
There is a general sense within the literature that adults and young people think differently about the online and offline world. For children and young people, the online and offline world are "seamless" in providing a holistic arena of communication, socialization, play, research and learning (JSCCS, 2011a; Willard, 2011). Consequently, children and young people don't necessarily see any difference between online and offline bullying - in one study young people described cyberbullying simply as "bullying via the Internet" or "bullying using technology.”
This is further supported by the idea that many young people who perpetrate cyberbullying also engage in offline bullying, and many young people who have experienced cyber bullying has also experienced offline bullying.
Location
There is often a transference and continuation of cyberbullying behavior from home to school or vice versa, with some the suggestion that more students experienced cyber bullying outside of school than in school hour.  Spears et al. (2008) described this as "cyclical" bullying, was not only the location but also the type of bullying (offline/online) may change over time. This nature of cyberbullying highlights the importance of parental involvement in preventing and addressing cyberbullying in partnership with schools and possibly other youth-focused

There are so many types of cyber bullying, amongst all I have noted it eight types of cyber bullying. The following are as follows;

Types of cyber bullying

 1. Flamming
Online fights using electronic messages with angry and vulgar language.

2. Harassment:
Repeatedly sending cruel, vicious and/or threatening message.

3.Denigration: Sending or posting gossip or rumors about a person to damage his or her reputation or friendships

4. Impersonation: Breaking into someone's email account and using it to send vicious or embarrassing material to others

 5. Outing
Public display or forwarding of personal communications such as text messages, emails or instant messaging. ... Even reading out the saved messages on a person's mobile phone is a form of outing. It can cause real psychological damage to the people involved if the message is private information.

6. Trickery: Engaging someone in instant messaging, tricking him or her into revealing sensitive information, and forwarding that information to others.

   7. Exclusion: Intentionally excluding someone from an online group.

8. Cyberstalking: Repeated, intense harassment and denigration that includes threats or create significant fear

My memoir on ICT class

After attending the class on ICT in teaching and learning, I became fluent with the ICT usage. Before I had only peripheral knowledge on computer usage as I only know typing, surfing internet, copy pasting, making simple power point presentation and watching videos. I was digital immigrant back then. However, with the change in time span, changes occur within me. There are many things that I learn have from this module.  Some of my learning are, I could make beautiful slides along with fantastic animations, interesting video tutorials, create videos,   make interesting lesson plans using ICT idea.

I could get into various situating tools that thoroughly engaged me in the activities. There is good transition from computer literate to computer educated. Over the time, I had good fight with new knowledge and computer skills.  Today as I look back I became warrior and I realized that weapon is still with me for future battlement. In a nutshell I wanted say that this module has been a fun learning with exploration. We are truly blessed to have such passionate tutor for this module.

Who took all the trouble to teach from the basic ideas to convince innocent computer user. I am one among that. I learnt a lot, I already neared to digital native. Module tutor guide me towards becoming competent 21st century teacher. For this I have immense gratitude for sir and with my heart I must say,   I am bless being under your custody. I will make proper use of your teaching and I will implement all strategy learnt in my future teaching and learning. THANK YOU SIR FOR  tEACHING  and guiding us through   strategy and technique that we could integrate in classroom.

Google classroom as constructive tool.

Google classroom is another constructive tool for teaching and learning. . I have learned that Google Classroom is a web-based platform that lets teachers create online classrooms where they can distribute, collect, and manage class work. It allows teachers to communicate and collaborate with students.  Google Classroom offers a digital safe space for students to view class announcements, access posted course content, and turn in completed work.

Teachers can use to this tool to teach students. We can substitute the real traditional classroom by google classroom. If we go by this choice, it will help in reducing paper usage. It will help to go paper less society.  In this case work load of both teachers and students will be reduced by not have to carry books. Students can summit their work in google classroom by joining in. Unlike traditional way of classroom; google classroom will help students to use time efficiently.

A student doesn’t need to wait for teachers to come and teach/ collect the books. They can join class as soon as they are at net accessible area.  A student doesn’t need to worry about losing books. It will let users take photos and attach to assignments, share files from other apps, and access information offline. Teachers can monitor the progress for each student, and after being graded, teachers can return work, with comments. Therefore, google classroom is effective way for classroom teaching and engagement.

In order to do away with traditional teaching, we were made to create a Google Classroom of our own by following the steps shown in a video. When creating a Google Classroom, I first opened a Web browser and went to classroom.google.com. I have signed in with my Google Apps for an educational account. On the Welcome screen, I clicked the plus sign at the top and chose Create Class. Then in the Create a Class dialogue box, I typed in the Class Name and Section. Finally, I clicked Create and within no time and to my surprise, I had finished creating a Google Classroom.

My reflection on benefits of Technology integration in Education

After attending this class I came to know about many benefits. Besides the class note, I even browsed the internet. It further strengthened my knowledge on it. I will briefly write my reflection on benefits of technology integration in education.Technology makes teaching easy. It is tiring job for a teacher to always give theoretical explanation. Instead of that, we can use audio-visual presentation (using computer and projector). It will help students understanding concepts much better.

Technology will help to track students’ progress. We are not limited to old way of maintaining diary and note about every student. We can use technology platform and tools to track students’ achievements. For example: Google docs. Technology makes learning fun for students. Now a days, students are addicted to Facebook,  Pinterest, Instagram, and other websites from the early age. We can make use of those platforms for educational purpose. We can create a group in Facebook for the constructive discussion. In such case, students will take part and learn as this platforms interest them than normal textbook and notebook task.

Technology makes distance learning accessible. If we use technology for the learning, teacher/students can sit back in the home and take part. It will also help them gain knowledge they are interested in. For example: if student is interested in making paper flower that is not reflected in the old curriculum, teacher can recommend him/her to browse the internet. It will help student feed his/her hunger for that knowledge
.
Students and teachers can access information at any time. In absence of technology we have to look for the book in library. To get the particular kind of book that we need, it will consume more time. Today technology integration makes everything different and simpler. Within no time we can get what we want precisely. If the student doesn’t understand the lecture that teacher gave, she or he can find for simpler instruction and information with a single Google search.  Technology also makes collaboration more effective. We can create collaboration work using online tools and apps. They can work from home, since the teams are connected through the internet. So, these are the lesson that I learnt on this topic. It is user friendly and we can use it in the class too.
